Subject: Part 2 is MIA
I’ve always found discussion about Si interesting, because people always equate it to memory in such a way that it sounds like the *mind* remembering, when I’ve personally always felt it as the *body* remembering.
For example, it’s taken me five years to reach the point where I have to actually write down my old songs. This is because when I pick up a guitar and put my hand on the neck, I can remember what each part of a song looked and felt and sounded like from that position. It’s memory that’s sensational rather than logical. When I talk about things that moved me in the past, I get emotional in a way that’s difficult to tamp down, because my body is remembering what it felt like. It’s as close as I think you could get to reliving something without having true flashbacks.
